Saying Goodbye To South Shore!

Having fun at the Deaf BBQ!

The Sisters of South Shore

The South Shore District

Hey Mom,

So this week was insane and unexpected!

On Thursday afternoon, I got a call from President Reynolds saying that I was moving. I had about 6 hours total to say goodbye to everyone and pack. One sister missionary had to go home on medical release. So now I am in Terryville with Sister Larsen. President said that another change will happen in two weeks when I leave to train and Sister Larsen will be put in a trio. Sometimes I fear that the Lord trusts me too much!

I really miss Sister Passey and Sister Layton! They are two heck of a missionaries! I can't even begin to tell you how much I love them. They have really helped me a lot in the mission. They really helped me realize a lot of things when I was struggling. Sister Passey has changed so much since the first day I was with her. I am so proud of her and the person she has become. That girl has changed my life in so many ways. She will continue to make a difference in my life and in other's life. Sister Layton is so amazing even though I was only with her for one week. She has taught me a lot and really helped me learn how to become a trainer through her example. She never let anyone get her down and she keeps on fighting with the biggest smile on her face. I really love her. It was great getting to know her. I wish our companionship lasted a few more days. It was sad for me to leave them. But I know I was needed in Terryville with Sister Larsen and Sister Passey and Sister Layton were needed in South Shore and needed each other. They will continue to bring miracles into that land!

Can I just tell you how amazing Terryville is?!?  It's literally a promised land. People are just so amazing here! I am so lucky to be able to serve with our zone leader in the district. The zone leader is Elder Paterson and Elder Seaton. I met Elder Paterson in the MTC. Elder Seaton and I served together in Flushing through my training times. It's crazy! I am also lucky to serve with Elder Olmstead (our district leader) and his fresh trainee who came in two weeks ago, Elder Watson and he is AMAZING. We have such a powerful group of missionaries and we work hard. Sister Larsen is pretty much amazing! She works hard and we have so much fun together. We work well together and I love her!

I got lucky to meet one sister, she is one of the coolest Recent Converts I have ever met! She is blind and has a service dog and she can do everything by herself. She cooks, she cleans, she can text on her iPhone, pretty much she can do everything. She and I hit it off well. What can I say?!? Deaf and Blind get along with each other very well.

I also met another sister and she is pretty much  da bomb investigator! She has so much going for her and still she has that strong faith with her. She recently bought a quad scripture from Deseret Book. I really love her and we just got along with each other so well. We think she will be baptized in like 2 weeks.

Another sister is also an amazing investigator. She came from a not religious background to now believing in God and Jesus Christ. She came a long way. She was just so happy about the gospel. I am not worried about her.

We have a mother and daughter who are also amazing investigators. The daughter is about 14 but recently got  back surgery. The daughter has a  friend who pretty much lives there and she is soooo amazing. She was full on listening to us. Asked great questions! Wanted a BOM, bible, and pamphlet from us, and wanted to say the prayer and said the most amazing prayer ever! She is 14 and so amazing! She needs to get baptized. While we were teaching her, their dog really likes me.... Like a lot.... You know what happened when a dog likes something a lot and they do something stupid.... Yup did that to me the whole lesson and the family didn't care, The friend really wanted the dog to leave but the dog bites.  Sister Larsen is sitting there laughing and trying to get the dog to get away from me, and I was disgusted! That is the first time I was disgusted with an animal.

We went and visited with another woman I had met before. I don't know if I ever told you about her. She is friends with a lot of the missionaries but is not a member. I visited with her before on P-Day and she is cool. Sister Larsen and I felt prompted to show her a video, "You Never Know." We expressed our gratitude to her and she felt so happy because she felt like she never made a difference in others' lives. Well, you never know.

We made a plan to meet with a Chinese family who are investigators. We talked with a guy and it was my first time teaching a lesson in Chinese in four months. It was a bit rough but we understood each other. He asked us to come back and teach more this Sunday so I am super excited to teach in Chinese again.

I want to testify that Children are truly amazing. They are so innocent and pure. When children are born, they are little angels in your arms. Little by little, they show you something incredible and they truly show that there is a God in heaven. I was sitting behind a family at church yesterday. This two year old girl kept looking at me, she grabbed my fingers and she looks up as if she know what Heaven is and then she looked at me and said, "Woah" and "Wow" she held on to my fingers the whole sacrament meetings and did that routine like the whole time. That increased my testimony. It was like she was expressing that Heavenly Father truly loves me. More children bore their testimony than adults. A few adults got up and expressed their gratitude to the children for bearing their testimonies. I am amazed with how many children bore their testimony and little children basically sit and listen to them and want to go up there and bear theirs too. When we visited with Annmarie last night and we had to leave, her daughter who is 7, Mckenzie told us that before she goes to bed she sings, "I am a child of God." She sang the whole song for us and you can definitely feel the spirit in that room. She was incredible. The children can easily show us the way back to God if we truly pay attention to them and we help each other grow and learn. Children are being examples! I love it!

I am sad to know that I will be leaving this place in a couple of weeks. It's beyond amazing! The ward members and investigators said, "We've attached so well together and I can't believe you leave so soon!" We connected so well so fast and that is why I love the people here in Terryville. I miss South Shore a lot. The people there are just so inspiring and I do truly believe that the Lord sends us to a specific place for a specific reason even if we don't understand what those reasons are. I know Heavenly Father's plan is incredible! This week I have come to realize that Heavenly Father is aware of us and our hearts. Let Him In. Let Him Help You. Let Him Guide You To Being Forever Changed!

I love you! I am grateful to be here!

Love,
Sister Moore

Fire Island Light House for P-day! I think YES!

We went up and stood on the deck, it was awesome!
Transfer Meeting
Hey mom,

So this email is going to be super weird! I just wanted to tell you everything!  This week has been the most stressful, successful, blessed, and miraculous week ever.

Let's start with Monday night, shall we? We have always been teaching C over the video phone, never in person. So it was our first time to visit with her this week in her own home! #Miracles! We started to teach her and then all the sudden K was involved in our discussion. Pretty much C asked questions and learned. K asked different questions and learned too. We were teaching two completely opposite lessons but we were teaching according to their needs. It was crazy and miraculous because remember that K is normally trying to pull C away from the church and it seemed prayers were answered and his heart was softened. K was agreeing to everything we were teaching him. C wanted to get baptized. K said, "Do everything you can to prepare yourself for baptism." Sister Passey and I were pretty much shocked. We expressed our gratitude to The Lord. Sister Passey said a closing prayer, while she was praying, I saw a mini vision of some of our other investigators dressed in white and they had a huge smile on their face. It was incredible to see and it motivated me to keep working hard.
Tuesday, Transfer meeting came along, we saw all the departing missionaries sing, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." So many great missionaries are leaving us tomorrow. I saw Sister Johnson on the stand singing. She looked at me, I looked at her and we both smiled so big. I am proud of her! She finished her mission strong. I felt like she has truly loved me and that she was proud of me. I then saw her almost start crying which made me shed a tear or two. I'm gonna miss her.

Sister Wang

                       Sister Johnson

Transfer call came along. We were put in a trio with Sister Kelsey Layton. We were so excited!! Funny story about Sister Layton. She has always wanted to be my companion ever since I came into the field. She even wrote President Calderwood ten reasons why we should be companions. What's with people and their dying wishes coming true haha. Sister Layton and I met on Facebook shortly before I left. She is from Centerville, Utah. When she was five, her hearing started to decrease and at the age of 12, she was completely deaf and received one cochlear implant. No one except for her family found out she was deaf until she was in college. She never knew sign till she came out on her mission. She is a really good missionary. I am lucky to be with her at this time.

Transfer was over, I said goodbye to all my previous companions, Sister Wang, Sister Hironaka, and Sister Johnson. Sister Johnson is already excited to have me home haha, she doesn't think she is waiting that long for me.

The Chinese district is ready to have me back in three weeks. Elder Chung spoke Chinese to me and I understood everything he was saying to me and responded back in Chinese and he was impressed. I am so nervous to train in Dyker. I know I will be fine as long as I trust in the Lord to guide me by the hand. #Faith

Oh my, I cannot believe I hit the one year mark. It's insane and guess what?!? I got super sick on my year mark! Great memories to have haha. I did nothing special that day but it was fun!

We got bible bashed hard last week. Interesting times!

We called one of our potentials KK. Our district leader went knocking two months ago and found her and received her number. We couldn't get in touch with her till last week. She talked to us for like an hour straight. She acted like she knew us.

Many of our Deaf investigators called us and told us that one of their dear friends, Steven Bruno, had died at age of 46. He had a seizure. KK invited us to his funeral. Well.... It was the most successful and a drama deaf finding ever!

Before we left to this funeral, we looked at each other and we were wearing bright colors and we were like.... Ummmm...... We need to mourn too. So we changed to dark clothing and we went. The funeral home was 2 minutes away. We parked.... And we sat.... Debating whether we should go or not.... Ended up going and it was good. So we met Steven in a casket. He is a very popular guy. So many people were there. There was two wakes going on for Steve Bruno. One from 2-4 and the other one was from 7-9. We went to 2-4. We saw our deaf investigators there,  It was 4 and one of the family said he felt the strong impression that we needed to come back at 7. We hesitated and then we accepted.

While waiting for the other wake to start, C invited us to eat dinner with her, her boyfriend K, and K's ex-wife, A. It was the most awkward dinner ever. A wants to be taught the gospel and she really likes me and was introducing me to a few people at the wake.

We went back to the wake and met sooooooo many people. There were hundreds of deaf people. Deaf radar is going off!  We met KK for the first time in person and she is pretty cool. Also at the Wake, P was sooooo excited to see us. She started yelling for people to introduce them to the Mormon missionaries. She was like, "Meet the mormon missionaries. They are sooooo awesome. They help me with my paper work. They help me with my family tree. They can do anything for you." J was like, "I love the Mormon missionaries! They are the best!" So yeah, we met a few of their friends and got their information. Also we met people who we have been teaching on the video phone and never met in person. It was cool.

Remember that P and J never come to church on time because of tap water? Well we taught them about the sacrament Saturday night and told them that they were not required to take the sacrament when they are not a member and then guess what happened?!? They came to church for the first time early! They were able to have a spiritual experience in sacrament. Yes!!! Lots of miracles!!!

So the real interpreter didn't show up yesterday for church so.... I got to interpret. It was fun and so interesting that the whole deaf group fell asleep :) I am so awesome!

On Saturday we met with Sister B. She said she had a confession.... So we told her to tell us. She said she has a problem with smoking. So Sister Layton said, "Give us your smoke pack." Sister B gave up one pack but had a hard time giving the other one away. I said, "You can slowly decrease your addiction by smoking less and less and less." She wanted to do that so we are going to keep her accountable! I really love her.

Yesterday, many people were coming up to me saying that they will miss me when I am gone. They said, "This is not an actual goodbye.... When you leave, come to me and give me a hug!" Awwww. Sister B was pouting... I asked what's wrong. She said she will miss me. I said, "You got other good missionaries that can help you!" She said, "But it's not the same thing." She gave me a big fat hug. I'm gonna miss her!

So we got a not contact referral, D. We showed up and she was surprised to see us and said she never ordered anything. We asked if she had mormon friends. She said she was in Utah last summer and had a partner in Health Coach who was a mormon who just probably referred her to meet with the missionaries. She was interested in learning about the church and so we are super excited to meet with her on Thursday! So main point of this... All you mormon people need to refer non-mormon people online and get missionaries to meet with them.  It's actually not a scary thing. Haha!

Spiritual experience for myself. So pretty much, attitude is everything. So many things are hard on the mission,  But then I decided to pray and ask for peace and change my perspective. I started reading some things in the gospel library and it helped so much. I am changing my perspective and attitude and I feel a lot better. I am grateful for that experience so I can learn and be able to help others who are in the same situation and help them rely on Jesus Christ for help. It's awesome! The Savior truly does love us! He wants us to humble ourselves  and strive to be more like him. We have those weaknesses but those weaknesses help us learn how to be humble and find ways to make it our strength through the Lord's power and guidance. I love this gospel. It's peaceful to know how amazing God's plan is!

I love you mom! With all of my heart!

Ello Mom!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!! I will write you another email soon.

This week has been hard for me but it was an eye opener for me. I definitely learned how to be more humble and rely on the Lord more. I definitely noticed the difference in the Lord's mission when I rely on the spirit and not lean to my own understanding and knowledge.

We finally met with our less active sister again and helped her do service. She doesn't really like to talk about religion but somehow the spirit was there and our conversation just led to talking about spiritual stuff. She knew that transfers were coming up, so she asked if we were staying or leaving. I told her that I might be leaving to go back to the Chinese program and her face was a little confused. I explained that I was originally a Chinese speaking missionary. Her face was in shock. She said as soon as I said that she got the chills. A deaf girl speaking Chinese. She asked about Chinese people and what their beliefs were at first when I first start teaching them. I responded, "Buddhist." She was amazed. She talked about her family being strong catholic. That conversation led to the temple. We explained that there is a temple in Hong Kong and they are building a temple in Rome where her family is from and she was so amazed. She is starting to recognize God's miracles and His blessings for her. She is slowly changing too. She is an amazing woman! She gave me a big fat hug. I love her.

So Sister Passey and I were nightly planning on Friday night and we got this phone call from a random number.
Sister Passey: Hello this is Sister Passey
*silence*
Sister Passey: Hello
A person: Hello is this Sister Moore?
Sister Passey: No... May I asked who this is?
A person: Hello Sister Passey, It's President Reynolds, may I speak with Sister Moore
Sister Passey: Of course you can.
She was so happy that she threw the phone to me.
Me: Hello, this is Sister Moore.
President Reynolds: Hello this is President Reynolds........ The Lord has called you to train a Chinese speaking missionary and she is coming mid-transfer.
Imagine my expression! I was soooo happy and President Reynolds heard me being filled with excitement. He laughed and said, "Thank you for accepting the calling. I will see you in Rego tomorrow for a meeting."
So I am going back to the Chinese program. I am so nervous. I know the Lord will guide me through it all.
Next day on our way to Rego, we got a call saying that our apartment needs to prepare for a trio companionship.  We got the transfer call and so I am staying with Sister Passey with another companion which we will find out tomorrow for a few more weeks and then I leave mid-transfer to train.

Yesterday we went to church. Sunday is normally the most exhausting day for me. Anyway it was a success. We had 5 deaf investigators and 3 deaf members so 8 people total. All the sister missionaries performed a special musical number. Sister Passey played the piano and sang. The other English sisters Sister Hammarstrom, Sister Robertson, and I signed the song, "Savior, Redeemer of my soul." We taught the English sisters to sign for few days and it was epic!  We made our deaf people cry and I felt the spirit so strong. We had a combined class with the hearing and it was awesome! They even allowed the deaf to teach the class. The work is progressing slowly. The deaf just talked after church and it was great that we were all connected.

I love C so much. She is a female full of light. She came for the 2nd time to church yesterday. Last time she came was the 2nd time I came to church. She was just SOOO happy and filled with gratitude. She really wants to get baptized. We have been having a video phone lesson with just her for three months 3x a week. She asked us to come over tonight to her home to teach her family. Her boyfriend is confusing her with the gospel. So we are excited to teach them. Pray for us because her boyfriend can give out sarcastic comments and I just know how to bring the topic back and showed whatever he says doesn't destroy me and my companion and the spirit and the Lord's work. His heart is a little softened. C said she loves the church and feels the spirit so strong. The members are awesome with her. When one of the deaf members found out she didn't have a dress, she quickly made her a dress and brought it to church. C had never worn a dress before. She was so excited and she put it on and she was jumping up and down showing us how beautiful she looks in the dress. I couldn't help but smile. The relief society stake president, Sister Cruz wanted to communicate with C so we interpreted for two of them. Sister Cruz expressed her love to her. C said, "Thank you for welcoming me here. I feel like a big family here." Sister Cruz cried and said, "You are family." She felt the spirit so strong with C and it was a powerful moment for me to see. We are excited to work with C. She and I are pretty much best friends. We have so many laughing moments.

So one thing that was hard was P and J. I hope you know how much I love them and have so much faith and hope in them. They are progressing really slow. So basically our zone leaders and district leaders ask us to maybe drop them soon if we aren't going to give them a baptism date. I was not happy about that and try to defend them. They wanted them to progress on Preach my Gospel standard. But they are progressing according to their needs. They changed so much and I am not giving up on them. They are finally praying on their own and are willing to read the BOM now. I wish our leaders could understand that. But C was da bomb with them yesterday at church. P has a lot of trials and she can't move on from the death of her loved ones and is still in mourning after a year. She is always negative about them. C has a lot of trials too and she is still happy and upbeat. C basically told them that she is still happy and grateful for what she has in her life. P was surprised and I was like, "Yeah C!"

Sister B is awesome! We are really working hard to work toward the temple goal. She is doing a lot better and is super happy. She invited us over for dinner yesterday, helped her set up Skype and read the BOM with her for the first time. I am SOOO excited! I love her.

Spiritual message:
I started studying the BOM again. I like to "Liken the Scripture" to modern days. What hit me was in Mosiah 18: 11-12 Now it came to pass that the king commanded them that all the men should leave their wives and their children, and flee before the Lamanites. Now there were many that would not leave them, but had rather stay and perish with them. And the rest left their wives and their children and fled.

How weak are the people that left the family? How strong are the people that stayed with their family? Let's relate that to modern time. There is so much evil in the world. How often do we lean into simple temptation? How often do we do something before thinking of the consequence? We have pornography, drugs, lies, stealing, and others, will we be willing to lean to that and be distant from God and our family or are we strong enough to resist the temptations and of the worldly things and stay true to our covenant we have made with God and be with our family for eternity like the men who stayed with their family because they know it's important? Do what is most important and right in your life today!

I love you!!!

Mom,

This week hasn't been much of a difference. But it was a good week!

Let just start of with crazy moments. So on Wednesday, we went to Live
after Five so it's likes a little fair in town. We decided to pass out
flyers. Let me remind you, this is Flushing. I got hit on lots of times. I
came to South Shore and hadn't been hit on until Wednesday. There was
a guy that came up to me. He grabbed both of my arms and started
rubbing my arms and acted like he wanted a kiss. I told him no and
turned around and started passing out flyers. He followed me around a
little bit. I turned to face him and he saw my mission tag and got
freaked out and walked away! The Power of the mission tag! The Power of the Holy
Ghost!

On Saturday, we wanted a brownie for no reason. But we were like, "Its
not going to help us fulfil our missionary purpose." But the craving
got bigger so we decided to go buy some. We bought a brownie mix to
make. We then bought some bagels from Panera Bread and it was so good.
But that day was 7/11 which means free slurpee day at 7-11. So we were
like, we want some but we just bought brownie mix and a bagel, we
don't need to get more food/drink. But we felt like we needed to go so
we went to 7-11 to get a free Slurpee. We were standing behind a
family and we felt prompted to start signing to each other and we did.
The daughter of the family looked at us and then looked at her dad and
said, "They are signing dad." Dad looks at us and came up to us and
asked, "Are you fluent in Sign Language?" Of course we are haha. He
started signing with us and I asked how did he know sign. He explained
that he served an ASL mission in Philadelphia, Tennessee, and Arizona.
Back in those days, if the person is called ASL they go all over the
world. He came home, got married, and then his life messed up and got
divorced and went less active because of the choices he made. He said he
doesn't believe the gospel is true but his new wife is also less
active. One of the father's daughters came out to NY for the summer and
the only way she could come is if she goes to church every Sunday. She
is doing good and she is 15 or 16 I think. I think the daughter will
make a change in the father's life so that was a tender mercy.

Trio for the day!

Later that night, we went to Bellport and did some lookups. Bellport
is full of black people and I love them. As we were walking this guy
was like, "You girls are from Utah and you shouldn't be here. This is the
hood, stay out of it if it's after dark." He named other towns that we
should stay out of and that pretty much was our mission area and so we
still have to be out in the area. We told him thank you and walked off
and I turned around and he was asking me to call him. Whatever.

We taught Sister B twice this week. Both of these times we
taught her the WOW (Word of Wisdom). She asked great questions about the WOW.
She has a huge desire to go to the temple and it's great.. One time we went over to clean her house and I got assigned to clean the bathroom. It was really dirty. It's super clean now. I was in my dress and Sister B was like, "I don't want to get your dress dirty. Put on this." She gave me what  people wear in the hospital, a scrub I think. I cleaned in it, I ate lunch in it, and I taught a lesson in it. I have so many funny experiences with Sister B. So I will have to share them with you when I get home.  I love her!

Not the best picture!

I forgot to tell you this coolest story that added a drop of oil
in my testimony lamp.  When Sister Hironaka and I were companions 3 transfers ago, we started
teaching this less active lady. She was so sweet and
kind. Her husband is now in the hospital with kidney failure and is
connected to the machine. We would normally teach her at the hospital
or late at night in her home. She was telling us that her son has
become less active with his family. He lives in a
different part of Queens. He was diagnosed with cancer and wasn't
going to live much longer. While we were teaching her, there
were a set of Elders who found her son's family and started teaching
them. They came back to church and became active once more. Sister
Hironaka and I split and we both left the area. Hironaka now lives in
the area where the the son's family lives and was assigned to teach them and
so she was able to use her Chinese to help out. The Bishop in that ward
explained that the their family needs to work their way to the temple
quickly. Hironaka and her companion worked super hard to help that
family. Three weeks ago Monday, the temple opened just for the their
family to be endowed and sealed in the temple. Hironaka told me this
experience, "He almost passed away during the endowment session but I
knew Heavenly Father was there sustaining him. They were able to be
sealed together! It was so special. I can't even describe it." 8 hours
after being endowed and sealed, the son passed away.
It was amazing to me to see how God truly works. He wouldn't let
him die until all the temple ordinances were fulfilled. How
can I deny this power? How can I deny that there is a God? This to me
was truly a miracle. I know that he provided an example to his mother,
and it does truly show her the importance of living the gospel righteously.

A member took one of our investigators to church...on a motorcycle!

I love this gospel so much. It bring so much peace, joy, and
gratitude. It bring so many miracles and blessings in my life.
Lately I have been missing the Chinese program will all of my heart.
But I know the Lord knows where I need to be and I will do the best I
can to fulfill His plan.

I love you mom with ALL of my heart!

 Love,
Your Daughter,
Sister Moore

Sister Hironaka and me with some awesome photo bombers!

Dear Mom,

This week we got to go to the city and meet the new mission president. Guess who drove there? Me! I prefer driving in Utah. Anyway, President Reynolds and his wife, they both are so sweet and tiny. The next day, we had our interview with them. Seems like my last six months here will be really good. I am excited to see what he has in his plan for me.

On Thursday, we went to our investigator's home to help with more of the family history. He made us a good dinner. Let me tell you about their cooking. It's the bomb. They normally cook food that is from all over the world. Like sauce from Greece, bread from Italy, basil from some other country. They love to travel. Anyway, normally when they are praying they say, "O God, Amen" but this time she prayed like how we normally pray. It was incredible to see that. She looks at us as if she did everything right "It's amazing!" It was definitely a change there.

We helped L and she is struggling a lot. I love her and she is definitely special. I want to ask you to keep her and others in your prayers. She loves her scriptures and this Friday she is going to bring her bible and share her favorite scripture with us. Normally when we are going over to help her  she would teach us and herself the gospel. She would be a great missionary in this world. She just needs to act on that faith she has. Everything is just not going well for her at this moment. She said, "I am only happy when you guys show up." I love her.

For July 4th, we passed out flyers at the parade it was fun. Everyone goes crazy with their outfits but I had a great time. We went on with our day being like missionaries and came home at 9. All the sudden we were in the war zone. Our house is like in the middle of all the fireworks which were so close to us. All these years fireworks were illegal in Long Island. This year, it's now legal. So people can shoot fireworks in their own home on their street. So we had a great view and lots of smoke. We had one on the north side, 2 west side, 2 east side, and 2 south side. Three of them were our neighbor's firework show. That's why it was war zone.

Yesterday at church was incredible. All of our deaf members went up to bear their testimony. It was powerful. J bore her testimony in Spanish and bishop translated. Brother and Sister Sorace bore their testimony in ASL, and Sister Passey translated. They provided a great example for our investigators. I thought it was amazing that ALL the deaf member bore their testimony. It was a big wow!

We then taught Sunday School with the deaf and taught about sacrament meeting since our investigators never partook of the sacrament. They admit that the reason why they come to church 20 minutes late is because they didn't want to take the sacrament.... Why? Well she doesn't like taking the water because it's "tap" water and taste awful. That's a weird excuse so please pray for them so they can come and partake of the sacrament and open their hearts So they can feel the spirit. She did admit that she loves Sunday school so that's a change too.

Yesterday we talked with our Sister Training Leader, they were saying that the Zone Leaders called and said that South Shore was on fire. They explained that South Shore was kind of dead and now it's alive and is on fire. I am grateful to be here seeing these changes. Again, Sister Passey and I accomplished all of our goals with guidance by the Lord. If we allow Him to lead our life, He knows where to take us. His work is hastening :)

Sister Merrilee Vassar was an amazing woman. I am so grateful for God's plan of salvation and how it enables us to be able to be with our family again. I remember seeing her at my farewell in Sandy and seeing her glowing face. She was an incredible example to me of smiling through all of her challenges. She was a fighter and a winner. I know she left behind a good legend. God needed his beautiful daughter home to help fulfill His mission in the next life because she has such an amazing testimony. I love this scripture Alma 40:23 "The soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body; yea, even a hair of the head shall not be lost; but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame." I know she is perfect again. I know she is right by Rick and Victoria even when they can't see her. I know she is happy and is in the arms of Heavenly Father saying, "Welcome Home My Daughter."

So I know I am 6 months away but I want to make my time at home sort of busy.  I was wondering if I could be a counselor for anything such as LDC or EFY or do humanitarian service or teaching English in China/Taiwan and if there is a application that is needed to be done in advance?? Of course I will spend time with my family too :D I can't wait to get that big hug from you!
Love you all the way from New York!!!

I love you mama!
